HubSpot Onboarding vs. Implementation

You just bought HubSpot. What’s the right level of external support you need to get it over the finish line?

We get a lot of questions from companies who want to automate and accelerate their marketing, sales or CX results using technology like HubSpot + AI.
By far the most popular question is “how exactly would Inflectiv implement it with us?”
The real questions they’re asking is:
“If we hire Inflectiv, how supported will we be during the process?”
The fact is that they are seeking outside help for a reason.
It might be a technical or skills gap, limited bandwidth on their team, or they want to be 100% sure that things will go off without a hitch.
So when it comes to a new implementation of HubSpot, we can do it in one of two ways.
I’m breaking it down here so that you can get clarity when you do this type of work.
Do it for you
In this scenario, the company is relying on Inflectiv to manage the process.
Inflectiv would be involved as early as possible to understand the requirements, match those requirements to platforms or AI, architect the solution, and then roll it out.
Through it all, Inflectiv would work closely with the company’s internal lead and champions.
Our team uses changement management principles to build a crawl, walk, run approach to implementation. We are involved in the training and launch to ensure long-term success.
In the Do It For You scenario, we are accountable for launching a finished Solution tailored to meet a company’s exact needs.
And because we work as one team with our clients over weeks or months, our compensation matches that effort.
Do it with you
For other companies, it’s best if they’re in the driver’s seat.
They have internal resources to handle specific parts of the implementation or project.
Instead of us doing most of the work, these companies lean on Inflectiv for best practices from 10+ years of HubSpot and RevOps work.
This is delivered via our HubSpot Onboarding.
Over the course of 2-3 meetings after they purchase HubSpot, we go through the steps required to implement it successfully.
This starts after they already confirmed their requirements and purchased HubSpot.
Inflectiv acts as their subject matter experts and accountability partner as they configure, train, and launch their HubSpot solution.
In an Onboarding, our involvement is timeboxed. That means it requires less investment from our clients, and they are responsible for the implementation process.
That doesn’t mean we don’t go above and beyond, as demonstrated by the recent five-star review that prompted this post.
Which one is right for your next HubSpot marketing, sales, or CX implementation?
I like to compare this to self-improvement projects in the home.
In some cases, I don’t need as much help. It’s a small job, something I’ve done before, or something I have time to learn.
In this case, an onboarding with a subject matter expert would get me off and running. And I can take it from there.
But for some projects, like our bathroom reno during COVID, I knew the whole thing was beyond me.
I brought in an outside expert to discuss our needs, confirm all the materials and approach, and manage the process from demolition to completion.
This investment was worth it to ensure we had a bathroom I’d love.
